Welcome to the Schools and Settings area of our website. On this page you will find the core information about each of the 22 DCS Schools and Settings based outside of England.

The School Improvement Team
Our School Improvement Team is headed by two Assistant Chief Education Officers (ACEOs) who support Head Teachers, Setting Managers and local Commands in the educational offer in each location. Our two ACEOs are forward based in SHAPE HQ, Belgium and Episkopi in Cyprus.
Rowland Bucknill is the ACEO for Rest of the World Schools and Settings, and Donna Simpson is ACEO for Cyprus Schools and Settings.
DCS Schools and Settings
The Ministry of Defence (MOD) provides schools and early years settings in key locations overseas and these are run by DCS.
DCS Schools and Settings provide education to the dependent children of Service Personnel and MOD-entitled civilians, entitled contractors, entitled-fee payers and non-entitled fee payers. DCS Schools and Settings are predominantly overseas, with one school in Scotland.

The MOD Virtual School (MODVS) holds responsibility for maintaining oversight of the safety, welfare, and education of children who live overseas in an area that does not have a DCS School (except for the USA, Australia, and New Zealand).
