Ralston School is located in the community of Ralston, Alberta, approximately 30 minutes west of Medicine Hat and around two and a half hours east of Calgary. Serving families within the Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Suffield community, the school follows the Alberta curriculum and provides education from Reception to Grade 9. Students in Grades 10 to 12 attend schools in Medicine Hat and Dunmore.

Ralston School is not a Defence Children Services (DCS) school. However, DCS provide an embedded teacher who delivers a combined Junior Kindergarten (JK) and Kindergarten (K) provision. This full-time, term-time programme allows children to attend both morning and afternoon sessions in both JK and K.
