A message from Mrs. Amy Woodward

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to St. Christopher’s Early Years Foundation Stage Unit. As a small setting we pride ourselves on the close partnerships we have with our families. It is these relationships that enable us to work together to achieve the best possible outcomes for all our children.
We believe that learning is one of life’s greatest adventures and we want to foster a love of learning in our children that will last for a lifetime. Our experienced staff are passionate about early education and understand the importance of building a solid foundation that sets children up for future success.
We have high expectations of all our children at St. Christopher’s EYFS. We support our children in achieving their best, both academically and personally, through our carefully planned play based curriculum and the opportunities we provide for our children beyond the day-to-day school experience. High quality interactions between adults and children are one of the key features of our practice and it is through these that we are able to assess, support and challenge our children’s understanding and thinking to move them on in their learning.
We look forward to learning with you throughout your time here at St. Christopher’s EYFS.

Our Vision, Values & Aims

Working in partnership, St. Christopher’s EYFS & Sunflowers aim to offer an inspiring and inclusive learning environment that fosters children’s innate curiosity about their world. Through our carefully crafted curriculum, engaging experiences, and high-quality adult interactions, children gain the skills, knowledge and self-belief they need to thrive. Children understand that the world is a big and exciting place and by fostering close links with the wider community, our children understand that they have a place in it. We have high expectations for our children, both academically and personally, in order that they leave us fully prepared for the next steps in their learning adventure.
We are passionate about providing the best possible provision to our children and as such our staff regularly engage in professional development. By continuously reflecting on our practice and exploring new approaches we are always looking to improve. We work in partnership with Sunflowers and other settings within the MOD Schools family to share best practice.
