Proud GCSE students at St John’s School

DCS are proud to announce the summer 2024 results for A Level, BTEC, and GCSE examinations at MOD secondary schools’ which children attend whilst their parents are stationed in Cyprus. The results reflect the dedication, resilience, and hard work of students and staff alike.

A Level and BTEC Success

The results for both schools demonstrate continuous improvements at the end of Year 13 (17 and 18 year olds). The average A Level grade across both schools this year is a grade C. Whilst this has been maintained by KRS, it represents a marked improvement for SJS from an average D grade in 2023.

Similarly, Business and Technology Education Council (BTEC) students at both schools showed continued improvement with a progress score above the English national averages for 2024.

Additionally, all students have been successful in achieving a place at their next destination, with 98% of students achieving their first choices.


GCSE Achievements

Similar results have been celebrated across both schools for GCSE level results where students have with performed strongly again this year with results demonstrating the school’s sustained commitments to academic excellence.

St John’s School reported that 75.5% of students achieved grades 4+ in English and Mathematics. King Richard’s were slightly ahead with 88%. This is significantly above the English national average of 67.4%.

Both schools have performed above national levels with KRS being particularly strong.

DCS would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all of our children and young people in their exam success this year and we wish them luck in the next stage of their learning and onward education. A special thanks also goes to a wide range of staff who have supported students education and made these outcomes possible.
